Hi! I’m Jill. Welcome to AccessibleNest!

A home and family life HUb for disability families and beyond.

Taxi driver by evening and modern homemaking momma of 5 by day. I thrive on a good morning latte and afternoon tea. I’m passionate about home and family, disability inclusion and helping others design their home into functional, cozy and accessible spaces and systems that work for their beautifully, unique family.

Whether it’s takeout pizza night or a home cooked meal, our family runs on loud meals, gathered around the table. I know modern families have busy schedules, just like ours, so I share recipes and routines that help us just get to the table.

I also love the connection in all our beautiful and difficult stories. That’s why I hope this space is as much as a landing site where you can find information about home and family life, as it is a place to connect with other home leaders.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m so glad you’re here!

gathered meals

Let’s face it, families today have a lot on our plates and it’s harder than ever to connect in the chaos of our busy schedules. Mealtime is the easiest time for our family to connect, but I have to admit, it does take grit and grace to just get to the table together. After years of finding recipes and rituals that work for our family, I’m here to share the secret to how our party of 7 gathers for dinner, most nights.

Accessible Nest

I’ve always loved the physical space of home and how it makes us feel. So, it is no surprise that one of my goals as our home leader, homemaker and home designer that I want it to feel like the coziest nest for all of us. For our large family with unique needs and budget, we’ve had to be creative about how we design and use our spaces. It is imperative to me that everyone in our house can function and develop fully in their environment, including my son who uses a wheelchair. It is one of my missions to help disability families (with any type of disability- seen or unseen) build their best nest and have resources to help everyone shine.
